I am convinced Canzano knows very little about football. He doesn’t seem to know anything about strategy or how the game is played. He simply talks about desire, playing hard, etc. Those are important, but there are a million factors that go into every game or season.

He simplifies everything to a ridiculous degree.

Anyone know if Canzano ever played any sports? Legit question.

    Jeff -

    Don’t know.

But I’m not so sure it is a relevant question.

Experience definitely offers an insight. However, how much experience does one need to have for a credible opinion? Grade school? Middle school? High school? College?

It’s kind of a slippery slope. What happens with people who physically can’t do a sport?

Sorry, if that’s too much. The wrestling crowd here on the blog has asked that question before. So, I kind of had that response ready to go.

    Thanks for commenting.

And, Jeff, I’m assuming that you don’t think he knows what he is talking about because he probably never played?

Canzano has played college baseball, I believe for Chico St. Kind of irrelevant considering we’re talking about the game of football, but there you go…

The only reason JC has UO 2nd is so he can tear them apart when they finish 3rd or 4th for underachieving. Very few national guys have UO 2nd because of their tough road schedule

I hate Canzano, but don’t think its a bad call. The ducks return just about everyone on D and have a ton of very skilled players returning on offense. Replace the QB and it should be a very good year.

JC probably has it about right. (WOW…that hurt just a little ) If not for the schedule I think the Ducks could contend for a Pac 10 title and possible national championship. They do IMHO return the most talented team in terms of experience, scheme, and coaching in the Pac. I know all the USC and ASU fans will be ripping that last statement, but we have to remember that what fed the ducks success last year was a run first offense that used the spread to keep faster, more athletic defenses honest. Ido believe that our O-line is better this year than last, and our running backs “could” be better as well…ok…niot better but more productive. Again, I know this is blasphemy in regards to Jstew, but Jeremiah averaged 1 ypc more than Jstew and Blount looks like he will be the thunder to Jeremiahs lightning like last year. The defense for the ducks should be the best we’ve had in MANY years. If you ask any coach about a team with a very strong defense, and a very strong running attack, they will tell you that the “if’s” at QB can be overcome. Costa doesn’t have to be Dennis. Just be efficient, ala Sunbowl quarterbacking last year, and let your talent, which I do believe is greater than Ropers, especially in this style offense, take over. We also have to take into account that the entire O has been in the mad genius Chip Kelly’s Spread for one more year. On D, i have been as frusterated byour Defensive philosophy as anyone, but history shows that when we have 2 strong corners, Nick Aliotti can muster a pretty dominating D…See Colorado in the Fiesta bowl. A game no one had us winning. Home Field is a huge factor in college football, but I see our guys being very focused and the verbal leaders of this team having a very business like approach. 2nd place sounds about right to me, but I’ll say it…we may have another special season, baring another rediculous rash of mass injury too 1/3 of our starters =)Lets keep our fingers crossed and hope that this team can focus and live up to their own standards set, which I am sure involves a Pac title and probably has the words BCS championship game somewhere in them. It will be fun to see how it unfolds. Opening game should tell quite a bit. UW’s offense will be much improved and Locker “IS” the real deal! (WOW…that hurt a little too)

    GO DUCKS!
