Jay, here.
Folks, I have a condition that just came on today. My eyes and complexion are a bit yellow. But I feel great - Saturday is almost here.
Do I have jaundice? Have I eaten too many carrots? Do I have a severe liver condition?
Uh…no.
What I’ve got is a case of what everyone else at Autzen Stadium should have tomorrow for the Homecoming game against the Bruins…CONDITION: YELLOW.
Here’s the scoop. The team is - allegedly - going to be wearing their new all-black uniforms for the UCLA game. But that does not mean you’re suppose to wear black.
You, the fans, are suppose to wear yellow. I know it’s going to be a cold, night-time game. But that’s no excuse. Duck fans, everyone needs to get on the same page and wear yellow. Just about every other big-time program is able to do it. So, it shouldn’t be any different here at Oregon.
So, here’s all the info you’re going to need over the next twenty-four hours. And I want to thank everyone who has emailed me regarding these events…

Are You Ready for Homecoming?
This Friday, the Homecoming Parade and Pep Rally will take place.
At 5:30, the parade will start at Mac Court and make it’s way down past the LLC to Agate and curve all the way around to 13th. It will finish at the EMU Amphitheater at 6:30, where and when the Pep Rally will take place. The parade will include floats, the 200-person marching band, the cheerleaders, fire trucks, numerous local community groups, and of course, the entire football team.
The Pep Rally will be hosted by Joe Giansante. There will be appearances from the cheerleaders, marching band, football team, and even Oregon Senator, Ron Wyden. Terrence Scott will be speaking at the rally and there will be chants in place to be taught for the game on Saturday.
On Saturday, your Oregon Ducks will be taking on the UCLA Bruins, and “welcoming” back an old foe, ex-Washington head coach, Rick Neuheisel. The game starts at 7:15 PM, the gates will open 4:15 PM, and students will be let into the student section at 5:45 PM, followed immediately by the GA section.
DON’T FORGET TO WEAR YELLOW!
GO DUCKS!
CONDITION YELLOW
Please wear your Lightning Yellow attire at this Saturday’s Game. The students want to fill Autzen with a sea of Yellow for UCLA and the national TV audience to see. Contrary to earlier reports, there is no call for a “Blackout.” This is a CONDITION YELLOW for Duck fans this week.
University of Oregon Alumni Association
The UOAA is encouraging fans to wear yellow. You can also check out their schedule of events at the UO Alumni Association website.

I agree Jeff, why isn’t a YellowOut promoted all season long, especially for TV games?

Sorry, I forgot to add: They could promote free pizza (or whatever) to everybody in the the (non-student) section with most yellow?

Seriously? Would it be that hard for you guys to find a yellow shirt? Do you really need that much time to plan it out?

The whole “white out”, “black out”, etc. has become tired.
I’m wearing green and if you don’t like then stick it. We have enough conformists in this world I don’t need the UofO students telling me what to wear.

Yellowout. Blackout. Whiteout. Already about as cliched and me-tooish as doing The Wave. I’ll participate when they think of something original.

I think everybody is well over the “color-out” crowds. (except penn st, its like a religion to them) One of the best things about a football game at Autzen stadium is the diversity of people and colors that come from all over to share a common interest in UofO athletics.

Yellow out? Forget that shizzy! All my sweatshirts and coats are either green or black…and it’s going to be frickin’ cold, so forget about this.
Also, the last supposed yellow out we got beat by Cal, so it’s cursed…much like the yellow helmets. I cannot believe we still have those yellow helmets, they are ugly and cursed. We tried to use Utah St. to break the curse, but all that did was give us a false sense of hope in those helmets.
However, I think it should be mandatory to punch anyone you see wearing a brown Oregon shirt.

Holy Crap…I had no idea so many of you would have a tizzy about wearing yellow to the game. How hard is it really? What a bunch of whiners.
